Hello, Maine!

Hi, I’m Laura — a photographer newly based in Portland, Maine. I specialize in documentary photography, capturing candid moments of families, newborns, events, nonprofits, and businesses with heart.

After traveling across the USA in our camper for two years, my family and I chose to settle in the Greater Portland area of Maine. I miss traveling, but I’m also excited to explore my newly adopted state.

I spent the fall and winter hiking with my daughter and taking photographs around Scarborough and Greater Portland. And, of course, we had to visit L. L. Bean!

One thing I learned in my first winter here: Maine has a REAL winter! I was a little concerned about living in a place that’s much colder than I’m used to, but I loved it.

Yes, my fingers and toes felt frozen occasionally, but it was worth it to see all the beautiful snow and even the northern lights one cold night.

So it looks like I’m here to stay for the foreseeable future. I’ll be writing and posting photos here as I discover Greater Portland and beyond.

I love to talk photography, so head over to my contact page if you’d like to chat. I’d also love advice from Mainers about things to see and do in Maine. I’m a traveler at heart and want to see as much of this beautiful state as I can.

It’s great to be here, Maine!
